PUPPIES
A Hymn of Spring

I love to take my breasts out for a walk
Like playful little puppies
They
Gamely leap about me
No need for a leash
Because they're completely domesticated.
No need for a bite-suit bra
What they really like best
Is fresh air and freedom.
They can leap high up
Like fox terriers,
Or trot along in funny little steps
Like Bolognese lap-dogs,
Or laze about, sad-faced,
Like dachsunds.
Give them a pat on the head,
And they look you straight in the eye
With their moist aureole gazes.
They lick you all over
With their nippletongues.
They can be so naughty!
They ought to be brought to heel,
taken in hand and punished.
But it's hard to be stern with them,
And so I let my troublemakers loose again.
This is their world, after all.
Here they do whatever they like:
Hurtle to and fro,
Splash about,
Push their noses into your palm,
Or throw themselves at you bodily.
And when the day is done
They collapse, spread-eagled,
Like a warm, tender sea,
Quivering subtly, winking at one another
Reddish flamelets flickering
Rocking gently on the waves
Floating beacons.
